Mac is one… One month that is. I thought this article would be about Mac, and about how much he has enriched our lives this last month. Instead, as I write, I think this article will actually focus on this last month and how enriched our lives have been not only because of Mac, but because of the many blessings God has given us. Our new home In the late summer of last year, shortly after Kelli and I discovered we would be becoming parents, … Read More

Mac's first bath

Mac pooped. It was a lot of poop. The gold and yellow, mildly pungent, creamy yet grainy substance decided it necessary to make its way out of Mac’s diaper; tantamount to squishing an overripe plum in your hand, the bodily excrement oozed out, spreading in all imaginable directions. Bowel movement; yes, definitely a movement. The movement began to spread like hot liquid magma bursting out of the earth. The lava poop rushed down with the force of gravity, staining everything in its path. The poop … Read More

Baby Mac - Two weeks old

Praise God that Kelli and I were born to extraordinary families. Praise God for all of you, our friends and family, who truly enrich our lives. Our week has been very busy, tending to Mac’s needs (food, diapers, and sleep) and … Read More

Engaged

It was January; our first date. A coffee date, casual enough. Get to know each other. I wonder if he would pick the Starbucks on the East side of town, or the one on the West. Maybe, he would pick Coffee Bean. He picks me up; collard shirt, nice jeans, and opens the passenger door to his brand new car, for me. The brand new car wasn’t for me; just the open door. We drive off. Conversation is going well, driving pattern is good, but … Read More
